STACK'D Solitaire Game Final Prototypes & Packaging

This game, when stacked in a 6x6 wall, can be played just like the card version of Solitaire, only instead of stacking cards, we're stacking blocks!
The components of STACK'D

The Chute is where blocks that are left over from building the wall are placed, creating a "draw deck" like in the card Solitaire game.

The game of Solitaire works by stacking opposite colored blocks in descending numerical order. When aces, or in this case, "one" blocks are revealed, they can be placed on the "aces" tray. Once one blocks are placed on the aces tray, this begins your matching suits towers. Once these suits are all placed in their tower, the game is won!

The packaging is inspired by bookmaking, where the top and bottom are made like a hardcover book. It is meant to be a box that can be held onto, something that becomes a part of room decoration and heirloom quality keepsake to keep the game in.

FRACTAL - Final Prototypes & Packaging

This prototype is made out of a 12"x12" tyvek sheet with cherry wood veneer triangles glued on both sides of the sheet.

The other prototype has magnets on both sides.  On top of the magnets are wenge veneer and styrene.

The packaging is a square cardboard box lined with foam.  The sheet is folded into a 6"x6" square and placed in the box with a plastic top to cover it.  The sheet is flat on 2 sides and then folds up to showcase how it transforms.  The box is made to represent a "picture frame" and the plastic is a window showing the product.

Inside the box are instructions on how to make a 4 pointed star.

Finished! (Videos Coming Soon...)

Bah! that was a lot of work. Videos coming soon! (They're taking a while to render and upload) We're so thankful for everyone in the class, our teacher Carl Boyd, and Marbles for providing this contest we could all be a part of! Thanks so much for all of your support.

Cubes Underway! (stay tuned)

Our cubes have come in, and are now sanded and ready for staining! Sanding 36 cubes with 1000 grit paper takes the "wind" out of one's thumbs...

Basically, stay tuned this week.
